Passionfruit

*I suggest to listen the song while reading

During winter, I visited a fishers' town, strolled along the cold sea, and felt the icy breeze. I plunged into the chilly water and discussed university journeys with my colleagues.

As it gets dark early, we began cooking dinner together. "Passionfruit" played smoothly in the background, reassuring me that everything was okay and I had accomplished things beyond my imagination.

After the meal, we played a game to see who knew each other better, laughing heartily. Suddenly, around 1 a.m., we decided to go out. Feeling dizzy, we wandered through the city to the only bar in town, which was bustling.

We then visited one of the sketchiest clubs I've ever been to. The music was terrible, and the patrons looked dubious, but being with my friends made it an unforgettable night. I pondered whether these friends would remain in my life.

By the harbor, I reflected on how, years ago, people set sail from here, never to return.

The town's age is evident, but on our way back, I wondered about the lives of its past inhabitants and whether future generations would speculate about our lives after we're gone.

After a year and a half, I've realized the significance of this episode. Its memory will remain eternal, fleeting yet indelible.

Despite our divergent paths—some of us in Denmark, others in Portugal—we reunite for a late-night pizza by the coast. As "Passionfruit" plays again, we're all together, possibly for the last time.

This night was not one of bohemian rhapsody but of mourning, connection, and reconciliation. Despite our mistakes, we're still here, looking forward to what comes next.

I might not grasp the significance of this moment in the future, but now, it feels surreal—the four of us gazing at the moon, listening to random songs, and reveling in our closeness, sensing that time is merely an illusion.

Without alcohol, without internal peace, just us in our purest form.

I wonder when I'll hear this song again and if we'll all have changed by then.

In the end, everything is okay.
